Women’s Volleyball Sweeps Marywood Tri-Match

SCRANTON, Pa.- The Keystone College women's volleyball team swept the Marywood University Tri-Match as they defeated Marywood and Lycoming in straight sets Saturday afternoon in Insalaco Arena.

Keystone moves to 5-1 with the two victories.

Keystone 3; Marywood 0

The Giants defeated the host Pacers 25-18 in both the first and second set and 25-20 in the third. This marks Keystone's first win over Marywood since September 13, 2016.

Taylor Hallam (Harrisburg, Pa./Central Dauphin East) led the offense with 12 kills. Elise Burk (Paw Paw, Mich./Paw Paw) and Adrianna Derrick (Oklahoma City, Okla./Putnam City) tallied seven and six kills, respectively. Tobi West (Hoopeston, Ill./Hoopeston Area) posted 18 assists and Catie Woolf (Fremont, Ohio/Saint Joseph Central Catholic) added 17 digs.

For Marywood, Leah Zambetti, Autumn Savitski, and Jaedyn Laws all had three kills. Peyton Fischer recorded 14 digs and four service aces in the defeat.

Keystone 3; Lycoming 0

Keystone took down the Lycoming College Warriors by scores of 25-22, 25-15, and 25-18. Rebecca Jackson (Quakertown, Pa./Salem Christian School) posted a match high eight kills. Burk finished the match with seven kills followed by Sofia Green (Portland, Ore./Mountainside) and Taylor Howard (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land) who had six. West and Burk combined for 26 assists and Woolf contributed with four service aces.

Lycoming was led offensively by Jessica Ahart and Cameron Upcraft who equally had seven kills. Haley Balgavy finished with 19 assists in the loss while Ali Koval posted a dozen digs.

What's Next

The Giants will remain on the road as they face SUNY Oneonta on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at 6 p.m.
