Women’s Basketball Bested by Penn State Harrisburg

MIDDLETOWN, Pa.- The Keystone College women's basketball team dropped another United East Conference to Penn State Harrisburg 65-42 Wednesday afternoon.

Anyah Ortiz (Reading, Pa./Governor Mifflin) scored a game high 10 points. Malaysia Bryant (Harlem, N.Y./Thurgood Marshall) and Izzy Rosario (Bethlehem, Pa./Bethlehem Catholic) both had seven points. The two combined for nine rebounds and four steals.

For Penn State Harrisburg, Jordan Carpenter flirted with a double-double as she had 18 points and eight rebounds. Giahny Correa added 17 points off the bench. Ali Lister almost had a double-double as she compiled 13 points, eight rebounds, and three steals.

Keystone held a narrow 25-24 deficit at the conclusion of the first half. They limited Harrisburg to four points in the second quarter. Following the intermission, the Nittany Lions made significant adjustments as they outscored the Giants 40-18 in the second half.

Keystone shot 23 percent (14-of-60) from the field and 67 percent (10-of-15) from the charity stripe.  

Keystone drops to 11-7 (5-4 United East) with the defeat and will welcome Penn States Berks for their next game on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m.
