Box Score 2 MYRTLE BRACH, S.C.- The Keystone College softball opened the 2025 campaign with two losses as they fell to Kenyon College 17-5 in five innings and 8-5 to Brooklyn College.
Game One: Kenyon 17, Keystone 5 (5 inn.)
Emily Schultz (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area), Julia Gorel (Carbondale, Pa./Carbondale Area), Kiara Taylor (Berlin, Md./Decatur), and Isabella Benitez (East Windsor, N.J./Hightstown) all had an RBI base knock while Sam Ratti (Brodheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) provided an RBI sac fly.
Gorel was the starting pitcher in the opening game and went 2.1 innings with a punchout. Schultz came in relief and pitched the rest of the game where she struck out two batters.
The Owls scored in every inning of this matchup, which was highlighted by scoring runs in the first, second, and fifth inning. Keystone added three runs in the first followed by two in second but were unable to tack on after that.
Game Two: Keystone 5, Brooklyn 8
Taylor led the Giants offense with two hits with a run scored. Benitez and Schultz both provided an RBI single. Gorel was the starting pitcher in the second matchup of the day and went two innings with two strikeouts. Schultz again pitched the rest of the contest in relief and recorded three strikeouts.Â
After Keystone added two runs to in top of the first, Brooklyn responded with four runs in the bottom half of that innings. The Bulldogs would extend their lead by scoring two more runs in the second inning as Lianna Gonzalez stole home along with an RBI single by Dasha Goodman.
The Giants would cut their deficit in half as they dropped two runs in the top of the fourth with an RBI single by Taylor and Mandarano stealing home. The Bulldogs would ice the game in bottom the sixth as Goodman hit a double which brought home two runners.Â

Keystone (0-2) continues Fastpitch Dreams Spring Break Classic action tomorrow afternoon when they face Dean College at 3 p.m. followed by Thiel College at 5 p.m.
