LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College men's soccer team suffered their first loss of the season to Elmira College 5-1 Sunday afternoon at the Keystone College Turf Field.
Elmira's Peitro Gallina scored twice for the Soaring Eagles. His first goal of the game occurred in the 5th minute when one of his teammates' shot was saved, he would score off the deflection. He would find the back of the net a little over a minute later.
Leo Arrieta (Miami, Fla./Miami Killian) tallied what would be the lone score for Keystone, a penalty kick goal in the 17th minute to make it a one goal game.
Luka Tatanashvilli closed out the first half with a goal in the 39th minute off a pass from Miguel Robiou.
The Soaring Eagles opened the second half with Daniel Mercedes finding the back of the net in 48th minute. Aadne Aarstad would be credited with the assist. Aarstad scored a goal of his own in the 64th minute off a feed from Ole Esselman.
Goalkeeper Kolten McVean (Dickinson, Tex./Dickinson) made seven saves in the loss.
Elmira outshot the Giants 27-4 with a 12-3 margin on shots on goal.
Keystone (1-1) hosts Susquehanna University on Saturday, Sept. 6 at 1 p.m.
