Dwyer Selected to Lead Field Hockey Program

LA PLUME, Pa.- The Keystone College Department of Athletics is pleased to announce the appointment of Courtney Dwyer '23 as the next field hockey head coach.

Dwyer returns to her alma mater after spending two seasons as the assistant field hockey coach at Wilkes University. While with the Colonels, she was responsible for recruiting, practice planning, and organizing clinics. She helped guide the program to its first-ever Landmark Conference postseason berth in 2023.

In addition to her collegiate coaching experience, Dwyer is an admin of NEPA Force Field Hockey Club, a USA Field Hockey–affiliated organization based in Northeastern Pennsylvania. Founded to promote player development, the club offers both indoor and outdoor seasons for athletes of all ages. Dwyer has served as a coach with NEPA Force since November 2020, working with players ages 5 to 18 to help them develop their skills and understanding of the game.

Dwyer currently coaches club field hockey with Brave FHC out of Wilkes-Barre, Pa. 

Dwyer competed collegiately at both the University of Scranton and Keystone College. She played for the Royals from 2018–20 before continuing her career with the Giants from 2021–22. During her senior season, she served as a team captain and helped lead Keystone to a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Championship appearance. As a junior, she assisted the Giants to a berth in the CSAC semifinals.

Dwyer earned numerous academic and leadership honors during her collegiate career. She received Landmark Conference Academic Honors, was a two-year member of the CSAC All-Academic Team, and a four-year member of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) All-Academic Squad. She was also an active member of Keystone's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC).

A native of Nicholson, Pa., Dwyer attended Lackawanna Trail School District, where she began her field hockey career and helped lead the Lions to a district championship in 2016.

Dwyer earned her bachelor's degree in biology from Keystone College in May 2023 and followed that with the completion of her MBA with a concentration in Health Systems Management from the college. She holds a USA Level 1 Coach Certification.
