Giants Push Win Streak to Eight with Dominate Win Over Rosemont

LA PLUME, PA- The Giants baseball team continued to dazzle offensively, taking down the Ravens of Rosemont College 14-3. Keystone pushes their win streak to eight, while remaining undefeated in United East Conference play.

The Giants struck first, knocking in two runs in the first inning of play. Ray Moreta (Bergenfield, N.J./Bergenfield) started the hitting off, sending a single to left field. Jaxson Monroney (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) scored on Moreta hit. Moreta came around and scored on a wild pitch that resulted in Dillion Bird (Westlake, La./Sulphur) earning the walk.

The Ravens tacked on their first run of the contest in the second inning, but went cold for almost the entire game following. The Giants, on the other hand, heated up in the second inning, knocking five runs across the plate. Jaxson Monroney (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) singled up the middle, scoring Dee Rice (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman). Carlos Pascual (Paterson, N.J./International) singled to center field, scoring Monroney, with Moreta pushing Pascual and Ruby across the plate later in the inning. Jonathan Santiago (Dunnellon, Fla./Citrus Springs) doubled to center field to push the Giants seventh run across the plate.

KC pushed their lead to double digits in the fourth inning, starting out with a Dillion Bird (Westlake, La./Sulphur) double to left center, scoring Santiago. The Giants continued to push their lead in the inning with a Colson Bennett (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) single down the left field line. Bird and Bennett both scored in the inning. The Giants final run of the inning came when Carlos Pascual (Paterson, N.J./International) singled to center field, scoring Dee Rice (Spartanburg, S.C./Dorman)

The Giants finished their scoring rout of the Ravens in the fifth inning, knocking in their final three runs of the contest. Colson Bennett (Camden, Del./Caesar Rodney) doubled to center field, scoring Moreta from second base. Kyle Trzaskawka (Shamong, N.J./Seneca) singled to center field, scoring Connor Starn (Pennsville, N.J./Pennsville Memorial). The Giants final run of the contest came when Bennett crossed home plate following a wild pitch from the Ravens mound holder.

Rosemont added their final two runs of the contest in the seventh and final inning, but were unable to cut deep enough into Keystone's lead, falling in seven inning 14-3.

The Giants spring back into action on Thursday, April 9 as they host Wilkes University in a non-conference match up slated for 3:30 PM.
