SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, PA- The Keystone College volleyball team continued its season on Tuesday evening, traveling to Penn State Schuylkill for a non-conference matchup. The Giants battled throughout the three-set contest before Schuylkill earned a 3-0 victory by scores of 25-15, 25-23 and 25-17.

Keystone showed its strongest offensive rhythm as the match progressed, finishing the night with 29 kills, four total blocks, five service aces and 25 digs. The Giants saved their best attacking performance for the third set, recording 11 kills while hitting .320 as a team.

The opening set saw both teams compete early before Penn State Schuylkill began to create separation. Keystone finished the frame with five kills and continued to work for opportunities offensively. Madison Woods (Camrose, Alberta, Canada/Ecole Camrose Composite) and Isabella Buonopane (Wake Forest, N.C./Archbishop Williams) helped provide an offensive presence for the Giants, while the Keystone defense worked to keep rallies alive. Schuylkill ultimately took the first set, 25-15.

Keystone came out with a strong response in the second set. The Giants recorded 13 kills and improved their hitting percentage to .219, their most productive offensive set of the first two frames. Keystone stayed within reach throughout the set, battling through extended rallies and creating opportunities at the net. The Giants pushed the set to 25-23 before Schuylkill took the second frame and a 2-0 lead.

The third set featured Keystone's best offensive showing of the evening. The Giants registered 11 kills on 25 attacks while committing just three errors, finishing the set with a .320 hitting percentage. Keystone continued to compete at the net and worked to extend rallies defensively before Schuylkill closed out the set, 25-17.

Buonopane led the Giants with nine kills on 19 attacks, adding a service ace and three digs. Woods followed with eight kills on 16 attacks while hitting a team-best .438 and adding two assists, a service ace and three digs. Noriega contributed four kills, two digs and a block, while Chesrown posted three kills on four attacks for a .500 hitting percentage.

Johnson helped run the Keystone offense with 23 assists and added three service aces. Reyes anchored the defensive effort with a team-high 10 digs, while also contributing two assists. Keystone finished with five service aces and four total blocks on the night.

The Giants head out to New York City next to take on The City College of New York and St. Joseph's Long Island on September 19 in the CCNY Tri-Match.
