READING, PA- The Keystone College women's soccer team battled Albright College on Thursday evening at Shirk Stadium, with the Giants receiving a goal from Emma Herman (Larksville, PA/Muhlenberg Christian Academy) and an assist from Sarah Koster (Dumont, N.J./Dumont) in a 10-1 contest.
Keystone got on the scoreboard in the 20th minute when Herman found the back of the net off a setup from Koster. The goal marked Herman's first of the contest and gave the Giants their lone goal of the evening.
The Giants continued to compete throughout the match, with Jasmyn Miller (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes) making 11 saves in a full 90 minutes in goal. Miller recorded seven saves in the opening half before adding four more stops after halftime.
Keystone generated three shots on the evening, including two in the opening half. Herman recorded two shots, including one shot on goal, while Amirell Sterling (Atlanta, GA/Frederick Douglas) added one shot.
Albright carried a 7-1 advantage into halftime before adding three goals in the second half. The Lions finished with 33 shots and 10 corner kicks, while Keystone battled through the final whistle.
Herman nearly added another opportunity late in the match, recording a shot in the 82nd minute that went wide.
The Giants jump right back into action against Wilson College on September 26 to open their United East Conference slate.
