Darren Lauer

Darren Lauer completed his first season as an assistant coach with Keystone College's baseball team in 2016.  Lauer joins the team's coaching staff after an outstanding, two-year career as a pitcher for the Giants.

In his first season as an assistant coach, Lauer helped lead the Giants to a historic season as Keystone posted a 40-11 overall record and earned an NCAA Divsision III National Runner-Up finish at the Collegiate World Series after the Giants won both the NCAA New England Regional championship and the Colonial States Athletic Conference championship. 

Lauer pitched in 20 games over the last two seasons and compiled an 11-4 record with a 3.49 ERA which ranks ninth all-time in program history.  In 118.1 innings of work, including a CSAC-leading 74.0 innings in 2015, Lauer struck out 82 batters and tossed three complete games including a pair of shutouts.   

Lauer twice earned weekly CSAC Pitcher of the Week honors and also claimed Texas Collegiate Pitcher of the Week honors in the summer.
