The 2017 season was Gabbie Bower's first season as a volunteer assistant field hockey coach with Keystone College's field hockey team.
Bower helped lead the Giants to a 6-10 overall record in her first year with the program including a 3-4 mark in Colonial States Athletic Conference play. Keystone narrowly missed a spot in the CSAC playoffs as the Giants were defeated by Marywood University, Bower's alma mater, 1-0 in the final game of the regular season. During her first year at Keystone, Keystone defeated defending CSAC champion Cabrini University 2-1 during the regular season.
Bower enjoyed an outstanding four-year playing career at Marywood, where she was a three-time All-CSAC honoree, earning First Team honors as a junior and senior after earning Honorable Mention accolades as a freshman. She was also a Second Team All-ECAC South Region selection after leading the Pacers in scoring during her senior year.
Bower totaled 78 points for her collegiate career by scoring 28 goals and dishing out 22 assists while also recording one defensive save.
A team captain for the Pacers, Bower was also a two-time CSAC All-Academic Team honoree at Marywood.
