Justin Higgins was tabbed to lead the reintroduction of football at Keystone College in his first collegiate head coaching role.
2024: Marked the program's second season in the Landmark Confernece. Seven players received all-conference honors from the Landmark.Â
2023: Started the season 1-0 for the first time in program history with a 27-6 win over Gallaudet in their week one matchup on Sept. 2. The team picked up its first Landmark Conference victory over Juniata College, 42-35 on Nov. 4. Seven players earned All-Landmark Conference honors.Â
2022: Won the first game in program history with 41-39 victory at Anna Maria on Oct. 15... Captured first home victory on Nov. 5 over Maritime... Won three of final four games to end the year... Had three players named First Team All-ECFC and two named Second Team All-ECFC.Â
2021: Inaugural season. Led the Eastern Collegiate Football Conference in fumbles recovered (10) ... Five players earned ECFC All-Conference honors: freshman RB Mujaheed Muhammad and junior OL Jon Naniewicz (First Team); freshman OL Josh Moore, junior LB Sean Tocci, freshman DB Jerell Springer (Second Team).
2020: Season canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.
2019:Â After a 71-year hiatus, football returned to the Keystone campus. The Giants went 3-7 in exhibition games with the first unofficial win coming Sept. 22 against the SUNY Morrisville JV squad.
The New York native has more than two decades of coaching experience most frequently on the defensive side of the ball. Higgins last served as defensive backs coach and special teams coordinator at Seton Hill University with other previous coaching roles at SUNY Morrisville, Utica College, Lehigh University, Kean University and Ithaca College.
Higgins had his first stint as a head coach in 2005 at Richfield Springs Central High School where he coached the Indians to victories in three of their last four games of the season.
