Dr. Grimaldi joined the Keystone athletic department on January 1, 2007 as the College's Director of Athletics.
During his time at Keystone, Dr. Grimaldi has overseen expansive growth of the athletic department, most notably the College's membership into the Colonial States Athletic Association (CSAC) and full membership as an NCAA Division III member. Additionally, has expanded the intercollegiate varsity offerings to 21 sports with the addition of field hockey, volleyball, men's and women's lacrosse, wrestling, and women's golf. On the academic front, the varsity teams at Keystone have seen their grade point averages rise by 10% since Dr. Grimaldi took the helm. Â

Dr. Grimaldi has also been actively involved in the expansion of the department from a physical aspect as well. During his tenure, Dr. Grimaldi has overseen the in installation of a new synthetic turf field and all-weather track complex that was completed in 2014, a permanent Athletics Hall of Fame has been constructed, and the addition of the Student Wellness Center located in Gardner Hall featuring upgraded fitness and cardio equipment. Improvements to the department's outdoor facilities have also included: infield improvements to the softball and baseball diamonds, new scoreboards for the softball and soccer/field hockey fields and general facility upgrades to the softball complex.Â
Dr. Grimaldi has also facilitated athletic success for Keystone's student-athletes as the Giants have won multiple team and individual conference championships under his direction, as well as achieving numerous All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American accolades. Keystone's athletic teams have greatly increased competitively under Dr. Grimaldi's leadership and now regularly contend for conference playoff berth and conference championships. Dr. Grimaldi has also overseen a baseball team that has made 10 straight NCAA appearances, earned two NCAA Division III Collegiate World Series berths, and finished as the 2016 NCAA Division III National Runner-Up. Additionally, Keystone's track & field team has had four competitors qualify for the NCAA Championships during Dr. Grimaldi's tenure.
The creation of an athletic club, as well as the design and launch of a dedicated athletic website have also taken place during this time. He also currently serves as the softball chairperson and as a member of the strategic planning council in the CSAC.Â
During the 2014-15 season, Dr. Grimaldi assumed the position of head women's basketball coach midway through the season and guided the Giants to an appearance in the CSAC semifinals. Keystone finished the year 14-13 overall and 10-6 in conference play to earn the #5 seed in the conference tournament where they defeated #4 Marywood University on the road in the first round before falling to top-seeded Cabrini College, ranked 21st in the nation at the time.Â
Dr. Grimaldi also coached the women's basketball team in the 2015-16 season and led a young Keystone team to a 7-17 overall record including a 4-12 mark in conference play. Â
Dr. Grimaldi came to Keystone from Mercyhurst College, Erie, PA, where he most recently served as Associate Director of Athletics for Compliance and Administration. Prior to that position, he served as Mercyhurst's Assistant Director of Athletics and Compliance Officer.
While at Mercyhurst, Dr. Grimaldi served as compliance officer for 25 varsity sports, overseeing seeing academic eligibility and academic support services. He also supervised the athletic department's marketing efforts, including implementation of a corporate sponsorship program and the development of the department's first athletic booster club.
Prior to joining Mercyhurst in 2001, Dr. Grimaldi served for three years as Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance/Event Operations at Drexel University. While at Drexel, he oversaw day-to-day operations of the compliance program, including monitoring grants-in-aid, certifying eligibility, and supervising and monitoring academic support. He also managed marketing and events management for 18 varsity sports. Dr. Grimaldi served as Drexel's Director of Marketing from 1997 to 1998.Â
Before taking on his responsibilities at Drexel, Dr. Grimaldi served as the Director of Admissions at the United States Sports Academy in Daphne, Alabama, an independent university founded to prepare students for careers in sports and sports management.  Â
He has also spent time at Lehigh University as Assistant Director of Athletic Facilities and at East Stroudsburg University as a Graduate Assistant football coach.Â
Dr. Grimaldi obtained an Educational Doctorate from the United States Sports Academy; a Master of Education in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from St. John's University, Jamaica, NY. He is a native of Queens and Long Island, New York.
