DeJon Bennett-Monroe

DeJon Bennett-Monroe was named the head men's and women's cross country/track & field coach at Keystone College in December 2025. 

Bennett-Monroe comes to Keystone after spending two seasons as an assistant track & field coach/recruiting coordinator at FDU-Florham. He assisted in starting the men’s and women’s programs as the Red Devils kicked off their inaugural season during the 2022-23 academic year.

Bennett-Monroe assisted with recruiting as well as the development of sprints, hurdles, and relays. He oversaw the qualification of multiple athletes for their first Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, both indoor and outdoor, in the 60H, 100H, 60m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and the 4x100, 4x200, and 4x400 relays.

Bennett-Monroe served as the head cross country/track & field coach at DREAM Charter School in Harlem, N.Y. He developed the program from having two student-athletes at the end of its previous season to nearly twenty the following season, as well as overseeing its transition into a new conference.

During the cross-country season, Bennett-Monroe trained several female athletes who had never competed in athletics before to be within the top 25 of their conference, along with a top three male athlete. He also facilitated these individuals to their first-ever Nike Cross Country Nationals meet where they got the opportunity to perform against other top cross-country athletes in the region.

Bennett-Monroe began his collegiate coaching career as an assistant cross country/track & field coach at his alma mater, Marywood University. He helped guide the Pacers to eight Atlantic East Conference Championships across men’s and women’s cross country and track & field, with Marywood earning Coaching Staff of the Year honors in each of these seasons (M&W XC 2019, M&W T&F 2021, M&W XC and T&F 2021 - 22).

Bennett-Monroe received his Sprints, Hurdles, and Relay Specialist Certification along with a Track and Field Technical Certification from the USTFCCA Academy.

As a student athlete, Bennett-Monroe was a member of the track and field and cross-country team. Marywood won its first Atlantic East Conference title in track & field his senior year. This came along with third and second place finishes in the Eastern College Athletic Conference for indoor and outdoor, respectively. He received first and second team accolades in the 4x400 relay as well as honors for the 200m, 400m, and 4x100 relay.

Bennett-Monroe graduated from Marywood in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in interior architecture and a minor in illustration.
