Ryan Smyth '11

Ryan Smyth began his coaching career at Keystone College following a two-year playing career with the Giants.

A New Jersey native, Smyth has been a key member of the Keystone coaching staff, earning a promotion to associate head coach after six seasons as an assistant. He also serves as the head coach for the Giants’ junior varsity program.

Smyth has built an impressive résumé at the summer baseball level, coaching alongside head coach Jamie Shevchik with the Brewster Whitecaps of the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League. The duo helped guide Brewster to league championships in 2017 and 2021.

Smyth was named manager of the Wareham Gatemen of the Cape Cod Baseball League on November 18, 2022. Prior to his time in the Cape Cod League, Smyth spent six seasons in the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) as both an assistant coach and manager.

As a player, Smyth competed collegiately at Boston College and Brookdale Community College (N.J.) before transferring to Keystone. He helped the Giants compile a combined 70-15 record during his two seasons and earned All-CSAC Second Team honors in 2009.

Smyth later continued his playing career professionally with the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League.
