Groff leads trio of Giants on ABCA-Rawlings All-Region Team
La Plume, PA (5-19-09) - Keystone College's Eric Groff has been selected to the First Team of the 2009 ABCA-Rawlings Mid-Atlantic All-Region Team.  The junior from Lebanon, PA was named to the team as a third baseman.

The Giants' Ben Fish and Sean Brewer were also named to the All-Region Team as Third Team selections.  The duo of Fish and Brewer also took home some additional hardware, with each being named to the ABCA-Rawlings Mid-Atlantic Region Gold Glove First Team.

Groff helped lead the Giants to a record of 40-6 and a berth in the Championship Game of the Mid-Atlantic Regional.  The Player of the Year in the Colonial States Atlantic Conference, Groff batted .445 (81-182), as he set new single season marks for hits (81) and runs scored (63) at Keystone.  His 147 total bases was just one off the Keystone single season mark.

He drove in a team high 58 runs, while also leading the team with 15 doubles, 13 home runs and six triples.  Groff was also selected to the All-Tournament Team following the completion of the Mid-Atlantic Regional.

Fish, a senior from Muncy, PA was a Third Team selection at first base.  On the year Fish batted .354 (56-158) with 57 RBI'S and 49 runs scored, which rank him second and third on the team respectively.  He was second on the team with 10 home runs and third with 11 doubles.  Fish's bat was not the only thing that had the voters taking notice, as he also earned a Gold Glove.  Fish committed just one
error in 321 chances at first base, recording 284 put outs and 36 assists.

Brewer, a junior from Montrose, PA, was also a Third Team selection, being named as a pitcher.  Brewer was also named as a Gold Glove recipient.  On the mound the hard-throwing right-hander compiled a mark of 8-3 with a 3.00 earned run average.  Often saddled with facing the Giants' toughest opponents, Brewer struck out 88 in 81 innings pitched,while allowing 27 earned runs on 65 hits.  He also knew how to field his position as well, not committing an error in 24 chances.
