ResultsLanghorne, PA – Keystone College's men's cross country team claimed their third-straight runner-up finish at the Colonial States Athletic Conference Championships hosted by Cairn University at the Core Creek Park on Saturday afternoon.
Justin Clarke (Factoryville, PA/Lackawanna Trail) and
Dan Polanco (Hazlet, NJ/Mater Dei Prep) earned First Team All-Conference honors while
David Strum (Bayonne, NJ/Bayonne) garnered Second Team honors to lead the Giants in the 8K race.
Cairn won their first-ever CSAC championship, dethroning six-time defending champion Gwynedd Mercy University, after amassing 55 points on the day to finish seven points ahead of Keystone's 62. Marywood University placed third with 68 points in the event with eight scoring teams.
Immaculata University's Angel Rodriguez won the individual championship with a time of 26:19 while Clarke finished second overall with a time of 26:33. Gwynedd Mercy's Matt Brown finished third in the overall competition which saw 56 runners compete.
Clarke's First Team All-Conference was his third-straight nod to the team and fourth All-Conference award of his career. Polanco also garnered First Team All-Conference honors after finishing fifth on the day with a time of 27:47 to also pick up his fourth All-Conference laurel after taking home Second Team honors in each of the last three seasons.
Strum was the third Keystone runner to earn conference honors after his personal record time of 29:29 placed him 14
th in the field, good for a Second Team All-Conference nod.
Rich Hardy (Boothwyn, PA/Chichester) completed the course in 30:03 to place 16
th while
Kyle Steiner (Sugarloaf, PA/Hazleton Area) ran a time of 31:22 to place 26
th in the field. Steiner was named to the CSAC All-Sportsmanship Team following the race.
Keystone will compete at the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships on Saturday, November 15
th. Dickinson College will host the event at Big Spring High School in Newville, Pennsylvania.
