Scranton, PA – Six former Keystone College cross country and track & field team member completed the 20
th Steamtown Marathon this past Sunday. Former Giants student-athletes Jeff Bachak '09, Rob Booth '09, Deirdre Bough '09, Jackie Kirby '09,
Justin Clarke (Factoryville, PA/Lackawanna Trail) '15, and Jeremy Stonier'14 all completed the 26.2 race in Northeastern Pennsylvania, crossing the finish line of the grueling race in downtown Scranton.
Clarke and Kirby both placed in the top-five of their respective divisions, with Clarke, who is currently volunteering as an assistant coach with Keystone's cross country teams, scoring an impressive fourth place overall finish in the event after running a time of 2:36.97. Kirby posted a strong showing of her own, placing fifth among women and 31
st overall by completing the course in 2:54.04
The duo was followed closely by Bachak, Booth, Stonier, and Bough with Bachak leading the group by finishing 33
rd overall with a time of 2:54:28.77. Booth took home a solid, 37
th place result after crossing the finish line in 2:56:11.93 while Stonier placed 116
th overall after clocking in at 3:07:47.17. Bough completed the course in 4:44:05.47 to place 102
nd in her age bracket and 1,747
th overall.
A total of 2,229 runners completed Sunday's marathon, which was run on a beautiful fall morning in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
