Conklin, a sophomore from New Milford, PA and graduate of Blue Ridge High School, is a member of the men’s indoor track and field team. Conklin was the talk of the DeSchriver Invitational at East Stroudsburg University this past weekend. In an event with 48 competitors, about half of them coming from NCAA Division I or II institutions, Conklin tossed the shot put a season best distance of 49-2.25, which was good enough win the event and beat second place by 10 inches. The shot put was not the only highlight on the day for Conklin, as he also brought home fifth place honors in the weight throw. His top mark of 49-7.25 was also a career best throw in this event by over three feet and a new school record.
