Giants upend Marywood 2-1 in field hockey action

Scranton, PA (10-22-08) - Brackney Brotzman and Kellina Yarrish provided all the offense that Keystone College would need as the Giants downed Marywood University 2-1 in CSAC field hockey action.

With the victory Keystone moves to 8-7 overall and 5-3 in the CSAC, while Marywood also falls to identical marks of 8-7 and 5-3.

With the victory Keystone secures themselves a postseason berth in the CSAC playoffs and also leave open the possibility of hosting a quarterfinal game on November 1.

Brotzman put the Giants on the board quickly, as the freshman scored just 3:42 into the game off an assist from Samantha Morgan.  Marywood would knot things up just before the half when Caity Hadzimichalis converted a penalty stroke at 33:45.
