Giants, Monarchs battle to overtime tie

Wilkes-Barre, PA (10-6-08) - Keystone College and King's College did all their scoring in regulation and then played twenty minutes of a scoreless overtime as the teams tied 3-3 in men's soccer action.

With the tie Keystone moves to 1-6-1, while King's goes to 10-1-2.

King's got on the board first at 20:45 when Mark Timko converted.  Scott Bensinger (Hegins, PA/Tri-Valley) knotted things at one

just before the half.

It was the Giants who struck first in the second half when Bensinger scored again to put Keystone up 2-1.  King's answered back a minute later to tie things up off a goal from Mark Timko.

The Monarchs gained the advantage at 3-2 at 83:53 when Cameron Audette found the back of the net.  With 2:20 remaining in the game King's was called for a foul in the box and the Giants were awarded a penalty kick.  Alex Boirand (Shanklin, Isle of Wight England/Sandown) made a successful execution of the PK to once again knot the score.

The teams went on to play twenty minutes of a scoreless overtime to end in a 3-3 tie. 

Keystone will return to action on Wednesday October 8 at 3pm when they host Centenary College in the Giants CSAC opener.
