Field hockey advances to semis with 2-1 win

La Plume, PA (11-1-08) - Keystone College scored two first half goals and then made it stand up as the Giants downed Immaculata University 2-1 in a CSAC quarterfinal game.

With the victory Keystone improves to 10-7 on the year, while Immaculata ends its season at 6-12.

Keystone moves onto the conference semi-finals, where they will play at Neumann College on Wednesday. 

Kellie Sussman put the Giants on the board at 14:06 of the first half when she took a pass from Samantha Morgan in front of the goal.  Immaculata answered back just over three minutes later when Kathleen Garrity scored to knot things at one.

Keystone would go back on top to stay with just over four minutes left in the first half when Lori-Ann Marino knocked in a deflection off the stick of Kellina Yarrish to give Keystone a 2-1 advantage. 

The match marked the first time in 20 years that a field hockey match was contested on the campus of Keystone College.
