Clarkson edges Giants

Potsdam, NY (11-21-08) - Clarkson University built a nine-point halftime lead and then hung on to down Keystone 77-74 in the semi-finals of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Potsdam.

Keystone, which fell to 1-1 on the year, will play Paul Smith College in Saturday's consolation game.

Clarkson raced out to a 37-28 advantage at the break, but had to withstand a Keystone rally to advance to the title game.

Tercel Taylor (Jackson, MI/Jackson) led the Giants with an 18-point performance, as he led four Keystone players in double figures.

Michael Kelly (New Hartford, NY/New Hartford) recorded a double-double with a 15-point and 13-rebound night.  His game high 13 boards helped the Giants control the glass with a 40-28 edge.

Ryne Luce (Cohoes, NY/Cohoes) added a dozen, while Kenneth Hardnett (Plant City, FL/Plant City) add 10.
