Meletiche leads Giants to twinbill sweep of Neumann

La Plume, PA (3-38-09) - Esteban Meletiche collected four hits and drove in three on the afternoon as Keystone completed its three game sweep of Neumann College by taking both ends of the doubleheader, 3-1 and 8-6.

Keystone also defeated Neumann on Friday11-7.

With the sweep the Giants move to 16-4 overall and 3-0 in the CSAC, while Neumann falls to 11-12-1 and 2-4.

Meletiche, who collected two hits in the opener, provided the big blast with a second inning home run.  The freshman shortstop also scored twice.  Ryan Smyth, who doubled, drove in the Giants other two runs in the game.  Ben Fish also collected two hits in the contest, including a double.

Brett Repard went the distance scattering eight hits and striking out four in earning his fourth victory of the season.  

A triple was one of Meletiche's two hits in the nightcap, as he drove in two and scored twice.  Eric Groff belted his team leading seventh home run, as the Giants put up a six spot in the third inning to build an 8-0 lead after three.

Brad Higgins worked five innings, allowing one run to move to 2-1 on the season.  Immaculata made the game interesting in the seventh, as the Mighty Macs took advantage of Keystone miscues to score four times.

Kyle Conrad, Kory Leicht, and Jimmy Ferraro were all two time hitters for Keystone.

The Giants will return to action on Sunday March 29 at 1pm when they welcome Stevenson University for a non-conference doubleheader.
