Langhorne, PA (4-25-09) - After surviving a 3-1 win in the opener, Keystone College broke out the bats in game two as the Giants knocked out 23 hits en route to a 21-1 win in the nightcap.
Keystone, which is ranked 5th and 14th in the latest NCAA Division III baseball polls, caps off the regular season with a mark of 34-4 overall and a perfect 15-0 in the CSAC. Philadelphia Biblical fell to 0-20 and 0-11.
Keystone has clinched the top seed in the CSAC playoffs and will host a home playoff game on Wednesday May 6 at 2pm. Their opponent has not yet been determined to make-up games yet to be played in the CSAC.
In the opener Sean Murphy worked five innings to earn the win. Murphy allowed three hits and struck out 10 while not allowing an earned run.
Esteban Meletice tripled and
Ryan Smyth doubled for the Giants, as Eric Groff turned in a two for four day at the plate.
In the nightcap Sean Brewer allowed just one hit in five innings to earn the win. Brewer struck out ten and did not walk a batter.
The Giants scored early and often in this one, pushing across runs in each of the first six innings.
Groff, Smyth, Donald Reese and Josh Hinkle all homered as Keystone showed off the muscle. Ben Fish was perfect at the plate going four for four with 5 RBI'S and two runs scored. Groff turned in a three for three day with four runs and 2 RBI'S.
Jimmy Ferraro went three for five while driving in two, while Ray Jackson went two for two with two runs scored. Kory Leicht was also a two time hitter.
