Walkoff to a sweep

La Plume, PA (3-24-12) - Keystone College rallied for two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two, as the Giants completed the sweep of Gwynedd-Mercy College, 4-3.

Keystone took the opener 4-0 behind a strong pitching performance from Blaine O'Brien.

With the sweep the Giants move to 10-3 overall and 3-0 in the conference, while Gwynedd-Mercy falls to 8-10 and 0-3.

Kept off balance for most of the game against Griffins starter John Barrington, the Giants finally broke through by scoring the winning run with two outs in the final inning.

Pinch hitter Juan Arroyo led off the seventh with a walk and was pinch ran for by Jhon Comas.  After a failed sacrifice attempt, Comas advanced to second on a wild pitch.  Chris Bzozowski followed with a deep drive to left that Justin Keith tracked down by the wall for the second out.

Joshua Paradoa then pinch hit for the Giants drawing a walk, but not before Comas stole third earlier in the at bat.  Gaston Rojas pinch ran for Paradoa putting runners on the corners.

Esteban Meletiche was hit by a pitch to load the bases for Keystone.  Barrington bounced a wild pitch during Andrew Siano's at bat, scoring Comas to knot things at three.  Siano followed with a single over the shortstop's head to score Rojas with the winning run.  Saturday marked the second straight day that the senior right fielder came up big for the Giants, as Siano also blasted an eighth-inning grand slam on Friday against these same Griffins.

Mike Rossi worked two perfect innings of relief to earn his second win of the year.  Rob Rogers started for the Giants, tossing five innings, allowing one earned run and striking out six.

Gabriel Molina and Bzozowski picked up doubled for the Giants, as Meletiche and Molina also drove in a run each.

In the opener Blaine O'Brien turned in a dominating performance, working six innings of three hit ball and striking out eight in the shut-out win.

Meletiche doubled, scored one and drove in a run, while Frank Mormino also scored one and knocked in one.  Siano and Miquel Castano also drove in runs.

The Giants game against Kean University, scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed.  No makeup date has been announced.  Keystone will return to action on Friday at 3pm when they host Marywood.
