La Plume, PA (3-30-12) - Marywood University used a four run fourth inning to account for their offensive output and then held on to edge out Keystone College 4-3 in CSAC baseball action.
With the victory the Pacers moved to 14-7 overall and 6-1 in the conference, while the 10th ranked Giants fell to 10-4 and 3-1.
Nicholas DeFebo kept the Giant hitters off balance the entire game, as the junior twirled a complete game, allowing two earned runs on six hits, while also striking out six. Zachary Duffy, who allowed all four Marywood runs, lasted four innings in suffering the loss.
Jonathan Woytach picked up two of Marywood's six hits, while Chris Ortiz added a pair of RBI.
Andrew Siano doubled as part of a two-hit afternoon for the Giants, with Gabriel Molina also adding a double for the Giants. Jhon Comas and Lymbel Guerrero each picked up RBI for Keystone.
The Giants jumped out first with a run in the second on a RBI groundout by Comas. However the Pacers had their first five hitters in the fourth reach safely in putting up the four spot. An Ortiz single to left drove in two in the inning.
Keystone plated single runs in the fifth and seventh to inch back into it, with a Guerrero sacrifice fly and a passed ball. Andrew Eggleston kept the Giants in it by shutting down the Marywood offense, tossing five shut-out innings, while striking out eight and allowing just two hits.
These same two teams will get back at it on Saturday with a noon doubleheader at Marywood.
