Giants back on track with sweep of Pacers

Scranton, PA (4-1-12) - After dropping a one-run decision to Marywood University on Friday, Keystone College responded with a strong outing from its pitching staff as the Giants took both ends of its CSAC doubleheader with the Pacers, 6-0 and 5-1.

With the sweep the 10th ranked Giants move to 12-4 overall and 5-1, while Marywood falls to 14-9 and 6-3.

Blaine O'Brien continued his stellar year on the mound for the Giants, going the distance in earning the win in the opener.  O'Brien allowed just two singles and struck out six in moving to 4-1 on the season.

After three scoreless inning to start to things the Giants finally broke through with a four run fourth, highlighted by a Lymbel Guerrero single to left,  as well as some Marywood miscues.

Esteban Meletiche doubled as part of a two-hit, three RBI game for the Giants, with Andrew Siano also picking up a pair of hits.

In the nightcap, Rob Rogers went six innings, allowing one run on one hit, while striking out six.  The game was called after six innings of play due to rain.

Guerrero carried the big stick once again for the Giants, blasting a three run home run to left-center as part of Keystone's five run third inning.

The Giants return to action on Monday when they travel to Rutgers-Camden for a 3:30pm start.  The game will be played at Bear Stadium in Newark.  The team will be back at home on Wednesday at 3:30pm in a non-conference game with York (PA) College.
