Oneonta, NY (4-15-12) - Blaine O'Brien carried the Giants on his back Sunday, as the senior hurler tossed a four hit shutout, striking out a dozen along the way as Keystone downed Oneonta State 2-0 in non-conference baseball action.
With the victory the Giants run their winning streak to 13 straight in moving to 23-4, while the Red Dragons fall to 13-13.
O'Brien went the distance in moving to 6-1 on the season while also raising his strikeout total to a team high 53. The victory also marked his third complete game shutout of the season. O'Brien ended the game as strong as he started, getting the Red Dragons to go down in order in the ninth, with two coming via the strikeout.
Steve Ascher suffered the loss for the Red Dragons, allowing two runs, one earned, in four innings of relief work.
The Giants managed seven hits on the afternoon with Frank Mormino and Brian Del Rosso each picking up a pair out of the eight and ninth holes. Esteban Meletiche, Chris Bzozowski and Lymbel Guerrero also added hits.
Seventh ranked Keystone will return to action on Wednesday when they travel to take on 10th ranked Misericordia at 3:30pm.
