La Plume, PA (5-9-12) - On Saturday in the CSAC championships the number 13 was a lucky digit for the Giants, as the team pulled a thrilling win in the 13th inning. On Wednesday that same number was anything but lucky, as Keystone dropped a 10-1 decision to Kean University, falling to 0-13 all-time against the Cougars.
With the victory Kean moves to 32-10, while Keystone falls to 35-6.
These same two programs will probably see each other in a week's time as both are expected to be part of the Mid-Atlantic Regional when the NCAA Division III tournament opens next Wednesday.
Ninth ranked Kean used a sixth run first inning to coast to the non-conference win, knocking out 16 hits in the process. Third ranked Keystone banged out 11 hits, but left 10 men on base in the contest.
Frank Mormino paced the Giants with a four-for-four game, including a double, while Lymbel Guerrero added a double as part of a three hit affair. Gason Rojas also doubled as part of a two-hit game, picking up the lone RBI in the process.
Keystone will learn their regional seeding and tournament site early Monday morning, with play set to begin on Wednesday.
