Baseball Rolls in Game Two to Earn Split With Albright

Keystone picks up 11-2 win after being shutout in Sunday’s opener



Ft. Pierce, FL – After being shutout in Sunday's opening game against Albright College, 6-0, Keystone College rebounded with an 9-2 victory in the second game to earn a split with the Lions as the Giants continued their Spring Break trip in Florida.  Keystone, who will enjoy a day off on Monday, moves to 8-3 on the season while the Lions record goes to 4-2.
 
In Sunday's opener, Albright plated a pair of runs in both the second and third innings to take control before adding insurance runs in the fourth and sixth innings of the seven inning affair.  Lions' starter Jared Neiheiser went the distance to earn a complete-game shutout win, striking out six and allowing five hits by the Giants.

Rick McLaughlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) led Keystone with a 2-3 performance while Anthony Muccio (Tarrytown, NY/Archbishop Stepinac), Ricky Riscica (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich), and and Jose Garcia (Trenton, NJ/Trenton Central) also added hits.  

Felix Lopez (Brooklyn, NY/Grand Street Campus) suffered the loss despite fanning eight batters in five innings of work beforing being relieved by Adam Sosnowski (Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley), who yielded one run in one inning of work.

In Sunday's nightcap, the Giants build a 4-0 lead over the first four innings before Albright got a pair of runs in the top of the fifth inning.  Keystone responded with a pair of runs in the home half of the fifth and added three more in the sixth inning to cruise to the 9-2 victory.

Gaston Rojas (Carmel, NY/Carmel) went 4-4 with an RBI and two runs scored to lead Keystone, while Lymbel Guerrero (Lynn, MA/Lynn Classical) and Miquel Castano (Miami, FL/Miami Springs) added a pair of hits in the victory.  Domenick Montanaro (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) knocked in two runs and Guerrero crossed the plate twice to lead the Giants.

Mike Pembleton (Oakhurst, NJ/Ocean Township) earned the win after going 4.2 innings and striking out five Albright batters.  Adam Krebs (Commack, NY/Commack) was perfect for 1.1 innings with one strikeout while Justin Martinez (Bronx, NY/Clifton) closed out the game with a 1-2-3 seventh inning.
 
Keystone will return to action on Tuesday morning as they take on the College of St. Scholastica in a doubleheader scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. in Ft. Pierce, FL.
