Keystone Doubles Up Wesley, 12-6

Giants improve to 10-4 on the season

Vero Beach, FL - Keystone College's bats came alive on Wednesday afternoon as the Giants scored a season-high 12 runs and doubling up Wesley College 12-6 in the second to last game of their Spring Break trip through Florida.  The Giants, who will close out their trip on Thursday against Messiah College, improve to 10-4 on the season while handing the Wolverines just their second loss of the season, as Wesley falls to 8-2 this spring.

Wesley used a four-run second inning to take a 4-0 lead and stretched it to a five run advantage in the top of the fourth inning, but Keystone responded with six runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-5 lead in Wednesday's non-conference game.  The Giants then took full control of the contest with a five-run seventh inning and would add another run in the eighth on their way to their 10th victory of the season.

Tyler Gurman (Bronx, NY/Lehman) led Keystone's offense with a 3-3 performance that included a walk, four RBIs and two runs scored while Domenick Montanaro (Egg Harbor Township, NJ/Egg Harbor Township) also added three RBIs on a pair of hits including a home run to go along with two runs scored and a stolen base.  Gabriel Ramirez (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Perkiomen School) also added three hits for the Giants, who also got multi-hit games from Miquel Castano (Miami, FL/Miami Springs), Gabriel Molina (Bronx, NY/James Monroe), and Rick McLaughlin (Hamilton, NJ/Steinert) as the team recorded 15 hits on the day.

Ramirez, McLaughlin, and Gaston Rojas (Carmel, NY/Carmel) joined Gurman and Montanaro with two runs scored apiece in the win.

Adam Sosnowski (Dickson City, PA/Mid-Valley) came on in relief for starter Zachary Duffy (Rockville Center, NY/Oceanside) and worked 4.2 innings to earn the win while striking out four batters and surrendering three runs.  Justin Martinez (Bronx, NY/Clifton) allowed one hit in an inning of work before Adam Krebs (Commack, NY/Commack) pitched the final two innings, striking out four to seal the victory.

Keystone closes out their stint in Florida on Thursday afternoon with a single game against Messiah scheduled for 12:00 p.m. in Ft. Pierce.
