Eddy Enowbi (Silver Spring, MD/Springbrook) scored his conference-leading 13
th goal of the season in Wednesday afternoon's Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer game at Marywood University, but it wasn't enough as Keystone College dropped a 4-1 decision to the Pacers. Marywood, who got goals from four different players, improves to 7-4-3 on the season and 5-2 in conference play with the win while the Giants see their record drop to 8-6 on the fall and 2-4 in the CSAC.
Marywood took a 2-0 lead with a pair of goals separated by just 1:34 midway through the first half. Daniel Hull opened the scoring in the 25
th minute by curling a shot from the top of the 18 yard box that Keystone goalkeeper
Anthony Cutillo (Marlton, NJ/Cherokee) was able to get a hand on, but not keep out of the far side netting. The Pacers doubled their lead in the 26
th minute when Kris Kassel settled a ball out of the air for Casey Peckio to put home from close range.
Enowbi quickly cut the Giants deficit in half in the 29
th minute, winning a ball off of a Marywood defender before ripping home a low shot just inside the far post from a tough angle. The freshman forward now has 13 goals this fall, the most among CSAC players. Enowbi also leads the league with 31 points on the season.
The Pacers restored their two-goal advantage in the 59
th minute when Dylan McMahon tapped home a shot from close range after receiving a cross from the goal line from Colin Ganard. The hosts closed out the scoring with just 32 seconds remaining on the clock with an unassisted goal from Matthew Hull.
For the game, Marywood held a 21-7 advantage in shots while generating eight corner kick chances to a pair for Keystone.
Justin Sunseri picked up the win in goal for the Pacers after making four saves while Cutillo finished the day by making seven saves for the Giants.
Keystone returns home on Saturday afternoon for a key CSAC tilt against conference-leading Neumann University. Opening kickoff between the Giants and Knights is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. in La Plume.
