Mosier Records 2,000th Career Assist in Three-Set Win at Cedar Crest

Senior is the first player in Keystone history to reach the milestone

Allentown, PA – Carol Mosier (Hunlock Creek, PA/Lake-Lehman) recorded the 2,000th assist of her collegiate career on Saturday as Keystone College posted a three-set victory at Cedar Crest College in Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball action.  The senior, who is Keystone's all-time leader in assists, is the first player in Giants' history to reach the milestone.

Saturday's win puts Keystone (16-4) on the brink of clinching their first-ever CSAC playoff berth as the Giants are now 7-1 in league play.  A win in any of their final three conference matches would clinch the postseason bid for the Keystone, who could also clinch pending the results of several other conference foes.

Keystone won Saturday's opening set 25-13 before taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-17 victory in the second set.  The Giants sealed their 16th win of the season with a 25-20 decision in game three, highlighted by Mosier's milestone assist which came on the 21st point of the set.

Kristen Larkin (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) led Keystone's attack with a match-high 10 kills to go along with four digs and two service aces while Hannah Zuchowski (Wellsboro, PA/Wellsboro Area) added eight kills, two aces, and a team-leading 13 digs.  Ashley Williams (Virginia Beach, VA/Green Run) and Taylor Beatty (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes) added six kills apiece with Williams collected a trio of aces and Beatty adding two blocks in the contest.

Mosier posted her fifth double-double of the fall by dishing out a match-best 14 assists and picking up 10 digs while Sydney Binkley (Toms River, NJ/Toms River North) handed out 11 helpers while pacing all players with five aces to go along with six digs.

Pamela Heitman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) added 12 digs for Keystone in the victory.

Ericka Clayton led Cedar Crest (4-13, 2-4 CSAC) with seven kills to go along with 13 digs while Molly Schnaubelt had five kills.  Celina Danish led the Falcons with 10 assists while Kaylee Martinez contributed a match-leading 18 digs in the loss.

Keystone will host the University of Valley Forge in a non-conference match on Tuesday night.  First serve between the Giants and Patriots is set for 7:00 p.m. in the Gambal Athletic Center.
