Hawkins Scores a Season-High Six Goals as Women’s Lacrosse Wraps Up Inaugural Season

Freshman finishes game with seven points on six goals and one assist in loss to Lycoming

Williamsport, PA – Emily Hawkins (Glenside, PA/Cheltenham) scored a season-high six goals and added an assist as Keystone College matched its best offensive output of the season at Lycoming College on Thursday afternoon, but it wasn't enough as the Warriors spoiled the Giants' season finale with a 20-7 victory.  Lycoming improves to 10-5 with the victory while Keystone ends their inaugural season winless in 10 contests.  
 
Lycoming opened up a quick, 2-0 lead just over two minutes into Thursday's game before Hawkins cut Keystone's deficit in half with an unassisted goal at the 26:21 mark of the first half.  The Warriors responded by scoring the next 11 goals to open up a 13-1 advantage with 12:45 remaining in the opening stanza. 
 
Hawkins netted back-to-back goals separated by 2:20 to complete her third hat trick of the season, but the hosts netted the final two tallies of the first half to hold a 15-3 advantage at halftime.
 
Lycoming extended their lead to 17-3 by potting the first two goals of the second half before Hawkins scored unassisted at the 18:22 mark.  The Warriors countered with two more goals before Nina Hodanich (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) netted her sixth goal of the season off a Hawkins' assist with 8:07 left on the clock before Hawkins added her fifth goal of the game three minutes later. 
 
The hosts tallied their last goal of the game with 1:26 remaining before Hawkins closed out the scoring with her team-leading 18th goal of the year by converting a free-position shot with 40 seconds left.
 
For the game, Lycoming outshot Keystone 33-11 while holding a 24-15 edge in groundballs.  The Warriors also won 21 of the game's 29 draws.
 
Meghenn Jackson led the hosts with four goals and two assists while Jordan Lazarich tallied three goals.  Liz Francescone and Colleen McCormick chipped in with two goals and one assists apiece and Casey Maguire also had three points on a goal and two helpers for Lycoming, who got one save from winning goal Nicole Gerling and two stops from Casey Martindale in the second half.
 
Kaelyn Englert (Palmerton, PA/Palmerton) tied for a game-high with five groundballs to lead Keystone while Hawkins, Maria DiMartin (Oneonta, NY/Oneonta), and AAliya Hayes (New Rochelle, NY/New Rochelle) scooped up a pair of groundballs apiece.  Hawkins led the Giants with four draw controls while Hodanich collected a pair of draw controls.
 
Domonique Swann (Waldorf, MD/Westlake) made nine saves in Keystone's cage while leading the team with two caused turnovers.  Swann ends the season with 83 saves in nine games to average 9.2 saves per game.
