Women’s Soccer Clips Ravens for Second Straight Win, 3-2

Moranski scores two goals and adds an assist to lead Keystone past Rosemont

Rosemont, PA – Jenna Moranski (Gardiner, NY/New Paltz) scored two goals and added an assist to carry Keystone College to a 3-2 victory at Rosemont College in Colonial States Athletic Conference women's soccer action on Wednesday afternoon.  The Giants improve to 2-4-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with their second consecutive win while the Ravens slip to 1-6 (1-1 CSAC) this fall.

Keystone opened the scoring on Wednesday 17:51 into the game when Moranski snuck through the Rosemont defense before firing home the go-ahead goal to give the Giants a 1-0 lead.  The Ravens wasted little time tying the game back up as Victoria Kasper connected on a shot from 20 yards out just 27 seconds after Ehrhart's strike to knot the score up at 1-1.

Keystone went back in front in the 35th minute when Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, NY/Schenectady) knocked in a shot from five yards out after getting on the end of a cross from Moranski.  Cortes's second goal of the season gave the visitors a 2-1 edge that they would take into halftime.

Rosemont again tied the score just under 11 minutes into the second half Alexa Rhoads lofted a shot over Keystone goalkeeper Sarah Heintz (Glenside, PA/Abington) from 20 yards to make it a 2-2 game.  Moranski answered in the 68th minute to give Keystone their third lead of the afternoon by knocking home a rebound opportunity for her second  goal of the game.

Moranski's third tally of the season would stand as the game-winner as the Giants' defense and Heintz stood tall over the final 22 minutes to give the Keystone their second win in a row.

Rosemont held a 15-12 edge in shots for the game while both teams placed six attempts on frame apiece.  The Ravens also held a 7-1 advantage in corner kicks for the game.

Heintz picked up her second victory in goal after making four saves while Rosemont goalkeeper Andrea Dossantos suffered the loss while making three stops for the hosts.

Keystone will return home next Tuesday for a CSAC tilt against Cedar Crest College that is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at the turf field in La Plume.
