Carol Mosier (Hunlock Creek, PA/Lake-Lehman) recorded her second straight double-double while five different players had at least five kills as a balanced attack led Keystone College to a three-set victory over Rosemont College in a Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball match on Tuesday night. Keystone improves to 10-3 on the season, reaching double-digit wins for the third year in a row while remaining perfect in conference play at 3-0.
Keystone had little trouble with the Ravens (1-10, 1-2 CSAC) on Tuesday, winning the opening set 25-11 before taking a 2-0 advantage with a 25-14 win in game two. The third frame marked the tightest set of the contest, but Keystone was able to close out the sweep with a 25-18 decision.
Mosier recorded match-highs of 22 assists and 10 digs to go along with three service aces for her third double-double of the fall and second in as many matches for Keystone.
The Giants had a balanced attack that was paced by seven kills from
Ashley Williams (Virginia Beach, VA/Green Run) while
Shatia Silas (Belleville, NJ/Belleville),
Taylor Beatty (Virginia Beach, VA/Ocean Lakes), and
Kristen Larkin (Williamstown, NJ/Williamstown) added six kills apiece.
Victoria Homfeld (Smithtown, NY/Hauppauge) added five kills for the visitors, who posted a .276 hitting percentage on the night.
Pamela Heitman (Cortlandt Manor, NY/Walter Panas) picked up eight digs and three service aces,
Dana Carey (Tunkhannock, PA/Tunkhannock) contributed seven digs, while Larkin and
Leleo Bane (Waianae, HI/Waianae) tied for a team-high with four aces apiece.
Nadirah Anderson and Morgan Rollins had four kills apiece to lead Rosemont, Sabrina Heggan added 13 assists and a match-best five aces, and Anderson paced the Ravens with eight digs on the night. The Giants held the hosts to just a .014 hitting percentage in the match.
Keystone returns to the court on Thursday evening when the visit Marywood University for a CSAC match scheduled for 7:00 p.m. in Scranton.
