Haris Sabovic (Brodheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley) scored two goals and assisted on another to lead Keystone College to a 5-0 victory over visiting Immaculata University in Colonial States Athletic Conference men's soccer action on Saturday afternoon. The Giants, who also got a goal and an assist apiece from
Ibrahim Tounkara (Nazareth, Pa./Nazareth Area) and
Abreham Kittel (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson), improve to 5-3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play with their third consecutive win and second shutout in a row.
Keystone's five-goal outburst marked the most the Giants have scored in a CSAC game since a 6-0 win at Philadelphia Biblical College (now Cairn University) on October 2, 2010.
Sabovic opened the scoring in the 17
th minute of Saturday's contest by capping off a nice passing play in the box that saw Tounkara and
Matthew Sim (Tomball, Texas/Tomball Memorial) pick up assists. Sabovic then doubled Keystone's lead in the 33
rd minute by converting a penalty kick for his ninth goal of the season. The senior currently leads the CSAC and the Giants in scoring with 22 points and nine goals.
Tounkara netted his second goal of the fall in the 55
th minute by running onto a thru-ball from Sabovic and depositing it into the right side of the net to extend Keystone's advantage to 3-0.
Angel Perez (Miami, Fla./Dr. Michael M. Krop) got into the act in the 70
th minute by scoring on a one-time a blast to the far post after taking an angled ball from the baseline from Kittel for his second goal of the fall.
Kittel capped the scoring in the 86
th minute, ripping a left-footed shot just inside the far post from 16 yards out after taking a feed down the left side of the box from
Elmer Ramos (Kissimmee, Fla./Lakenheath American), who picked up his first point of the season with the helper.
Malcom Moreira (Hillside, N.J./St. Benedict Prep) picked up the win in goal by making six saves over the first 81:50 while
Steven Heintz, Jr. (Ardsley, Pa./Abington) was not forced to make a save in the final 8:10 of the contest.
Joe Lubonski made three saves over the opening 83:40 while Billy Hegarty played the final 6:20 without making a save for the Mighty Macs, who fell to 5-4-1 overall and 1-1 in the CSAC with the loss.
For the game, Keystone held a 17-13 advantage in shots with a 9-6 edge in shots on goal. Immaculata held a slight 5-3 lead in corner kick chances.
Keystone will travel to Cairn University next Saturday for a CSAC contest starting at 3:00 p.m. in Langhorne, Pennsylvania.
