Clarks Summit, Pa. – Keystone College picked up its 10
th three-set victory of the season on Tuesday evening by defeating host Clarks Summit University 3-0 in a Colonial States Athletic Conference volleyball match. The Giants boost their record to 13-9 on the fall including an 8-1 mark in conference play while the Defenders slide to 9-16 overall and 4-5 in the CSAC.
Keystone won the first set 25-13 before taking a 2-0 advantage with a 25-15 victory in game two. The Giants then closed out their 10
th three-set victory of the fall with a 25-12 decision in the third set.
Shannon Monahan (Manalapan, N.J./Freehold) posting a match-leading .583 hitting percentage with eight kills on just 12 attacks to pair with three blocks while
Hannah Zuchowski (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) led all players with 13 kills to go along with seven digs.
Taylor Beatty (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) chipped in six kills, nine digs, and three blocks while
Amanda Hardy (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock) totaled five kills and five blocks on the evening.
Malley Bowen (Owego, N.Y./Tioga Central) handed out a match-high 25 assists while
Pamela Heitman (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) led the way with 11 digs for the Giants, who recorded a .286 hitting percentage in the win.
Maddie Roat (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) led Keystone with three service aces while Heitman and
Sydney Binkley (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) added a pair of aces each.
Callie Kitowski paced Clarks Summit with six kills, Alexa Wagner had 13 assists, four aces, and tied with Jessica Klumbach with a team-best seven digs.
The Giants held the Defenders to a -.090 team hitting percentage on the evening.
Keystone will host Misericordia University on Thursday evening in a non-conference match starting at 7:00 p.m. in the Gambal Athletic Center in La Plume. The contest will be a "Spike Out Ovarian Cancer" match will all proceeds from T-shirt sales and donation going directly to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund.
