La Plume, Pa. – Keystone College pounded out 19 hits including three home runs on Wednesday afternoon as the Giants blasted their way to a 17-2 victory over  Widener University in non-conference baseball action at Christy Mathewson Field.  Keystone lifts its record to 21-6 this spring with their largest offensive output of the year while the Pride fall to 18-13-1 overall.    
 
Randy Torres (Bronx, NY/All Hallows) and Nate Ross (Albuquerque, NM/La Cueva) drove in five runs apiece while Chris Triano (Greenwich, CT/Rye) added four RBIs to lead Keystone's offense.  Ross and Louis Reyes (Port St. Lucie, FL/Treasure Coast) had four hits apiece while Torres scored four runs in the victory. 
 
Keystone jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning by scoring three runs on four hits.  Reyes led off the frame with a double to right center before scoring the game's first run on an RBI single up the middle from Torres.  Ross then drove in Torres with a base hit to right before Brady Barr (Bowie, MD/Bowie) singled through the left side to plate Billy Nelson (Moscow, PA/North Pocono) with the Giants' third run.
 
Triano gave Keystone a 6-0 lead in the home second with a two-out, three run home run to the deepest part of the park in centerfield for his team-leading fifth round-tripper of the spring.
 
Widener got on the board in the top of the third inning on an RBI groundout off the bat of Greg McDonough before Nicholas Enos hit and RBI single to center the following inning to cut the Giants' lead to 6-2.
 
The Giants answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth to restore their six-run advantage.  Torres led off the inning with a double down the right field line and came around to score when Triano singled up the middle.  Brandon Eady (Bowie, MD/DeMatha Catholic) then scored on an RBI groundout by Ross to push Keystone's lead to 8-2.
 
The hosts sent 12 batters to the plate in the home seventh and scored nine runs in the home seventh to break the game wide open.  Ross led off the inning with a double to deep center and scored on a single to center off the bat of Robbie Nardelli (Eynon, PA/Valley View) before Brady Barr (Bowie, MD/Bowie) came home on a single by Reyes through the right side.  Torres then put an exclamation point on the game by launching a grand slam home run over the right field fence before Ross send a three-run homer over the left field wall to give Keystone a commanding, 17-2 lead.
 
Keystone starting pitcher Jeffrey Ledesma (Yonkers, NY/Norman Thomas) allowed one hit on three hits and five walks while striking out four batters in three innings of work before handing the ball off to Dylan Leahy (Maybrook, NY/Valley Central), who went four strong innings with one run against on three hits and two walks to go along with four K's.  Nick Spinella (Bethel, CT/Bethel) walked one batter and fanned one in a scoreless eighth inning while James Dunning (Scranton, PA/West Scranton) retired the side in order in the ninth with one punch-out to wrap up the victory. 
 
Widener starter James Dougherty took the loss after allowing eight runs on 10 hits in four innings on the hill and the Pride used a trio of relievers to get through the final four innings. 
 
Enos led the Pride with three hits while Michael Elfreth collected a pair of hits in the loss for the visitors.

Keystone will host Immaculata University on Friday afternoon in the first game of a key Colonial States Athletic Conference series.  First pitch between the Giants and Mighty Macs will be thrown at 3:00 p.m. at Christy Mathewson Field.
