Frederick, Md. – Breanna Paulson (Mountain Top, Pa./Crestwood) scored 1:21 into overtime on Saturday morning to lift Keystone College to a 1-0 victory over Hood College in non-conference field hockey action, giving the Giants their first win of the season.  Keystone improves to 1-3 on the season with the thrilling win while the Blazers drop to 1-2 overall.

The game was scoreless after the opening 35 minutes of play with Keystone holding a 7-3 advantage in shot including a 6-1 advantage in shots on goal.  Hood goalkeeper Hailey Poisal kept the game scoreless by making six stops in the first half while Emily Hawkins (Glenside, PA/Cheltenham) stopped the lone shot the hosts put on target.

The Giants continued to dominate in the second half and stepped up the pressure looking for the game's first goal.  The visitors held a commanding, 17-0 advantage in shots in the second period of regulation, but Poisal made eight second half saves to send the game into overtime.

Paulson finally broke through in overtime, scoring on Keystone's first shot of the extra frame and 25th of the game, by chipping home the game-winning shot from the center of the goal area.

Keystone were rewarded by Paulson's heroics after dominating statistically where they held a 25-3 advantage in shots including 16-1 margin in shots on goal while generating seven penalty corners to just one  for Hood.

Hawkins picked up the shutout win in the Giants' cage by stopping one shot while Poisal made 14 stops for the Blazers, who also got a defensive save from Ashley Griffin.

Paulson led Keystone by attempting 10 shots in the game, Shelby Croasdale (Nicholson, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) fired off six shots, and Kayla Bain (Lancaster, Pa./J.P.
