Delhi, N.Y. – Keystone College posted a 2-0 win on the road on Tuesday afternoon, topping SUNY Delhi in non-conference women's soccer action for the team's first shutout of the year. The Giants level their record at 3-3 on the year while the Giants fall to 5-3-1 overall.
After a scoreless first half,
Jenna Moranski (Gardiner, N.Y./New Paltz) opened the scoring for Keystone in the 56
th minute by finding the back of the net off an assist from
Cassie Ehrhart (Stamford, N.Y./Stamford Central). The junior's tally was her first of the season and would stand up to be the game-winner.
Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) iced the win with a goal in the 90
th minute, netting her first goal of the season to double the Giants' advantage at 2-0 with just 54 seconds left in regulation.
Hannah Richner (Nicholson, Pa./Mountain View) and
Kristen Hlavaty (Scott Twp., Pa./Lakeland) picked up assists on the marker, with Richner collecting her second helper of the season and Hlavaty's assist marking the first point of her collegiate career.
Rebekah Shepherd (South Canaan, Pa./Western Wayne) made six saves to earn the shutout win in goal to mark her first clean sheet at the collegiate level.
Emma Allen made two saves for the Broncos, who held a 13-6 advantage in shots for the game with a 6-4 edge in shots on goal. Both teams had three corner kick chances apiece on the afternoon.
Keystone will travel to Baltimore on Saturday to take on Notre Dame of Maryland in a Colonial States Athletic Conference contests starting at 12:00 p.m.
