La Plume, Pa. – Keystone College extended its winning streak to nine matches on Tuesday night with a three-set victory over the College of Saint Elizabeth in non-conference volleyball action in the Gambal Athletic Center. The Giants improve to 9-4 on the season with the win while the Eagles fall to 5-8 this fall.
Keystone took the lead on Tuesday with a 25-17 win the opening set before building a 2-0 advantage with a 25-15 decision in the second game. The Giants then closed out their seventh sweep in their last eight matches with a 25-12 victory in the third frame.
Keystone posted a .268 hitting percentage as a team while holding Saint Elizabeth to a -.063 hitting percentage on the night.
Hannah Zuchowski (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro Area) led the Giants with match-highs of 14 kills and six service aces to go along with seven digs while
Malley Bowen (Owego, N.Y./Tioga Central) put down seven kills to pair with 10 assists.
Taylor Beatty (Virginia Beach, Va./Ocean Lakes) and
Maddie Roat (Frederick, Md./Tuscarora) added four kills apiece in the win.
Sydney Binkley (Toms River, N.J./Toms River North) led all players with 16 assists on the night while
Pamela Heitman (Cortlandt Manor, N.Y./Walter Panas) picked up a match-best 11 digs to go along with five aces.
Victoria Homfeld (Smithtown, N.Y./Hauppauge) chipped in with six digs while Roat and
Amanda Hardy (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock) added a pair of blocks each.
Yasmin'na Muhammad had seven kills to pace the Eagles' attack, Nicole Morera handed out eight assists to go along with a team-best six digs in the loss for the visitors
Keystone will host a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon, taking on Notre Dame of Maryland University in a CSAC tilt at 12:00 p.m. followed by a non-conference contest against Dickinson College starting at 2:00 p.m. in La Plume.
