Emily Long (Shamokin, Pa./Our Lady of Lourdes Regional) became Keystone College's all-time record for triples on Friday as the Giants split a Colonial States Athletic Conference softball doubleheader at Rosemont College. The Giants (5-11, 2-6 CSAC) won the opener 9-1 in five innings before the Ravens (3-8, 1-7 CSAC) bounced back for the split by claiming the nightcap, 8-2
Long's first inning single in the second game of Friday's doubleheader was the 13
th of her career, surpassing the mark previously held by Karly Evans (2001-2002, 2004). Long's triple was the senior outfielder's second this spring following up the 2016 season in which she hit a single-season program record nine triples.
Game 1
In Friday's opener, Keystone took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first inning when Long hit an RBI single before breaking the game open by scoring five runs on four hits and two errors in the third inning.
In the third inning,
Ryleigh Fitch (Springville, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) drove in Long with a sacrifice fly before
Antonette Scialpi (Hughestown, Pa./Pittston Area) hit an RBI single through the right side to make it a three-run game.
Hunter Schantz (Bethlehem, Pa./Freedom) then delivered a two-run home run before an RBI base hit from
Kaylee Hartman (Red Bank, N.J./Red Bank Regional) made it a 6-0 game.
Rosemont got on the board in the bottom of the third inning on an RBI single before Schantz restored the Giants' six-run advantage in the visitor's fourth with a her second home run of the game.
Keystone closed out the run-rule win with a pair of runs in the fifth inning as Hartman scored on an error before
Shannon Dermont (Scranton, Pa./West Scranton) delivered an RBI single to make it a 9-1 game.
Alyssa Hughes (Sellersville, Pa./Pennridge) picked up the win in the circle after allowing one run on five hits while striking out four batters in the complete game.
Hartman paced Keystone with three hits while Long, Schantz, and
Shannon Lloyd (King of Prussia, Pa./Archbishop John Carroll) delivered two hits apiece as the Giants outhit the Ravens 13-5 in the contest. Schantz had a game-high three RBI in the game one victory.
Kaileigh Whalen was charged with the loss for Rosemont after yielding nine runs on 13 hits while picking up one K in the contest.
The Ravens, who had just one extra-base hit in the contest, got their five hits from five different players.
Game 2
In game two, Long hit her record-breaking triple with two outs in the top of the first inning, but Keystone was unable to bring her home. Rosemont took advantage of escaping the jam by taking a 4-0 lead in the bottom half of the frame by scoring four runs on two hits, two walks, and one error.
The Ravens opened up a seven-run advantage with three runs on two hits and two walks in the home half of the second inning before the Giants got on the board in the visitor's third when Hartman singled home

Rosemont added a run in the home sixth on an RBI single to claim an 8-1 lead before Keystone closed out the scoring in the top of the seventh inning on an RBI double from
Kassadi Woods (Trumansburg, N.Y./Charles O. Dickerson).
Autumn Sharkey picked up the win in the circle for the Ravens, tossing a complete game and allowing two runs on nine hits while striking out five batters.
Whalen led the Ravens with two hits and had two RBI while Sharkey and Lora Zubrzycki drove in a pair of runs each.
Jordan Hodle (Plymouth, Pa./Lake-Lehman) suffered the loss after yielding two earned runs on two hits while fanning two batters in 0.2 innings of work.
Abby Aniska (Scott Township, Pa./Lakeland) surrendered three runs on one hit in one inning while Hughes was charged with one run on five hits while striking out three batters in 4.1 innings.
Hartman went 3-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Giants, who held a 9-8 edge in hits in the game two loss.
