Gwynedd Valley, Pa. – Keystone College and Gwynedd Mercy University split a pair of tight  Colonial States Athletic Conference baseball games on Sunday, with the Giants claiming the weekend series two game to one following Saturday's 10-5 win in La Plume.  The Griffins (12-9-1, 4-5 CSAC) rallied to win Sunday's opener 4-2 before Keystone (14-8, 7-2 CSAC) claimed an extra-inning thriller in the nightcap, 3-2.
 
Game 1
 
In Sunday's opener, Keystone took a 2-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning as Sebastian De La Cruz (Port Jervis, N.Y./Port Jervis) singled to left field to drive in Brendan Long (Naples, Fla./Barron Collier) before coming around to score on a sacrifice fly from Chris Panzarella (Hazle Township, Pa./Hazleton Area).   
 
Gwynedd Mercy got a run back in the bottom of the fifth inning on a solo home from Derek Whitfield before scoring three runs on four hits in the home sixth.
 
Shaughn Wright, Nick Mulvey, and Iziah Trimble all had RBI base hits for the Griffins in the sixth inning to give the hosts a 4-2 lead before Sachael Sciaretta secured the save with a scoreless seventh inning.
 
Nick DeRitis picked up the win for Gwynedd Mercy after allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out five batters in six innings on the mound.
 
Jason Mulvey led the Griffins with a pair of hits in the game one victory.
 
Miguel Reyes (Bronx, N.Y./Monroe) yielded three runs on five hits while striking out five batters for Keystone in five innings of work.  Gerry Gonzalez (Manhattan, N.Y./Progress) allowed one run on one hit while Tyler Widitz (Phillipsburg, N.J./Phillipsburg) allowed two hits and fanned two batters in the sixth inning.
 
Anthony Ferrezza (East Islip, N.Y./East Islip) paced the Giants offense with a pair of hits including a triple in the game one setback.
 
Both teams had eight hits apiece in the opener. 
 
Game 2
 
Keystone scored the first run of the second game of the day in the top of the fifth inning when Tony Hunter II (Savannah, Ga./South Effingham) brought home Panzarella with an RBI groundout, but Gwynedd Mercy took a 2-1 lead in the bottom half of the inning on a two-run triple from Dave Tatoian.
 
The Giants leveled the game at 2-2 in the visitor's sixth when Long scored as Billy Nelson (Moscow, Pa./North Pocono) grounded into a fielder's choice.
 
The game remained deadlocked until the top of the eighth inning Panzarella singled up the middle to drive in pinch runner Adrian Laro (Brooklyn, N.Y./Grand St. Campus) from second base with what would prove to be the game-winning run.
 
Gwynedd Mercy loaded the bases with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning, but Yeison Andujar (San Juan, P.R./Programa Educativo Alcance) ended the game with a strikeout, his eighth of the game, to earn the complete game victory on the mound.
 
Andujar allowed four hits over the full eight innings and worked around four walks and two errors by the Giants to earn the victory and improve to 3-1 on the season.
 
Brady Barr (Bowie, Md./Bowie) and Austin Chaszar (Bordentown, N.J./Bordentown Regional) had a pair of hits each for Keystone, who held a 6-4 edge in hits for the game.
 
Mike Di Ianni turned in a strong start for the Griffins, yielding a pair of earned runs on five hits while picking up three K's.  Liam Sullivan picked up the final two outs for the hosts with one hit against and one strikeout.
 
Gwynedd Mercy got their four hits from four different players with Tatoian's triple standing as the Griffins only extra-base hit of the contest.

Keystone will travel to Drew University on Wednesday for a non-conference matchup starting at 3:00 p.m. in Madison, New Jersey.
