Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) recorded seven points on three goals and one assist to lead Keystone College to a 4-0 victory over visiting Wells College in non-conference field hockey action on Wednesday afternoon. The Giants, who also got a goal from
Amy Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) and two assists from
Shelby Croasdale (Nicholson, Pa./Lackawanna Trail) level their record at 3-3 with their third shutout win of the year.
Keystone opened the scoring just 6:52 into Wednesday's contest as Robinson found the back of the cage with a shot from the top of the circle after taking a feed from Croasdale.
Llewellyn doubled the Giants' advantage in the 11
th minute by putting home her first goal of the season on a shot from close range off a Robinson helper. Robinson pushed the host's lead to 3-0 in the 19
th minute by tallying her second goal of the game with Croasdale adding her second assist of the contest.
Keystone held the three goal cushion at halftime while outshooting Wells 17-1 over the first 35 minutes of play.
Robinson completed her hat trick in the 53
rd minute of the contest, stick-handling past a pair of defenders before scoring her team-leading fourth goal of the season from close range to cap the scoring.
Megan Novak (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) picked up the win in goal for the Giants with one save in 46:14 of action while
Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham),
Kali Kishter (Alexandria, Va./Mount Vernon), and
Lauren Dekorsi (Lindenhurst, Ill./Lakes Community) all saw action in net for the hosts without being forced to make a save.
Allison Solomon made 12 saves for Wells (0-8) while Katherine Pryor picked up a defensive save in the loss for the Express.
Keystone outshot Wells by a commanding 26-3 margin with a17-1 lead in shots on goal. The Giants also out-cornered the Express 16-4 in the victory.
Keystone will travel to Mahwah, New Jersey on Saturday afternoon to take on Ramapo College in a non-conference tilt starting at 1:00 p.m.
