Women’s Soccer Drops Tough 1-0 Loss to Penn College

La PLUME, Pa. - Oct. 14, 2018 - Junior keeper Rebekah Shepherd (South Canaan, Pa./Western Wayne) made 15 saves but the Keystone College women's soccer team fell 1-0 to visiting Penn College on Sunday afternoon during Homecoming Weekend.

With the defeat, the Giants fall to 3-11 and will head to CSAC opponent Bryn Athyn on Tuesday, Oct. 16 at 7 pm. The Wildcats improve to 10-3.

Following a scoreless first half, Penn College broke through in the 54th minute to claim a 1-0 lead, which stood the rest of the contest.

Offensively for Keystone, the Giants fired off 10 shots, with three on frame. Senior Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) led the team with six shots (two on goal), while junior Amber Smith (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) fired one shot on target.

Shepherd made 15 stops, giving her 159 saves this season and making it the ninth match with double-digit saves.
