Women’s Soccer Enjoys 2-1 Win Over Notre Dame on Senior Day

La PLUME, Pa. - Oct. 20, 2018 - Junior Jordyn Olsen (Southampton, N.J./Seneca) headed home the game-winning goal in the 85th minute to lift the Keystone College women's soccer team over Notre Dame (Md.) 2-1 in CSAC action on Saturday afternoon on Senior Day.

With the win, the Giants have now won six straight against the Gators and improve to 4-11-1 (4-2-1 CSAC). The Giants will head to King's on Tuesday, Oct. 23 at 7 pm before hosting Cairn on Thursday, Oct. 25 at 4 pm in the CSAC regular season finale. The Gators fall to 5-8-0 (0-7-0 CSAC).

Keystone has earned a spot in the CSAC postseason, with seeding still yet to be determined.

Prior the the match, the team honored its four senior members: Kristy Hansen (Brodheadsville, Pa./Pleasant Valley), Jayleen Galeno (Passaic, N.J./Scranton), Rebecca Yuscavage (Dalton, Pa./Scranton Prep) and Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady).

Following a scoreless first half, Cortes found the back of the net with a blast from the 18 in the 62nd minute - off a feed from junior Hayden Richner (Nicholson, Pa./Mountain View) - to give the Giants a 1-0 lead.

The Gators notched the equalizer in the 66th minute as Meghan Connor scored her 13th of the season.

In the waning minutes of regulation, Olsen struck a bouncing ball in the box past the Notre Dame keeper for her second goal of the year.

Overall, the Giants outshot the Gators 17-7, with Cortes leading the attack with four shots.

Junior keeper Rebekah Shepherd (South Canaan, Pa./Western Wayne) earned the win, making one stop.
