La PLUME, Pa. - Oct. 3, 2018 - Senior Nisa Cortes (Schenectady, N.Y./Schenectady) scored twice and four other Giants tallied goals as the Keystone College women's soccer team enjoyed a 6-0 shutout victory over local rival and CSAC opponent Clarks Summit University on Wednesday afternoon.

With the win, the Giants move to 2-9-0 (2-1-0 CSAC) and will play at Cedar Crest on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 7 pm. The Defenders, meanwhile, drop to 3-4-0 (0-2-0 CSAC).

Junior Hayden Richner (Nicholson, Pa./Mountain View) tallied the first goal in the 22nd minute off a feed from Cortes, to give Keystone a 1-0 edge. Cortes enjoyed her first goal of the match in the 29th minute - assisted by freshman Amber Shirtz (Tunkhannock, Pa./Tunkhannock Area) - to put Keystone up 2-0.

Cortes tallied her second marker of the day in the 53rd minute - assisted by sophomore Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) - as the Giants went ahead 3-0. Shirtz found the back of the net in the 60th minute, thanks to a feed from Richner, to increase the advantage to 4-0.

Junior Amber Smith (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) put home her second goal of the year in the 63rd minute, again assisted by Richner, to give the Giants a comfortable 5-0 cushion.
