Field Hockey Cruises to 10-0 Victory Over Sweet Briar

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Oct. 7, 2018 - Junior Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) scored four goals and senior Emily Hawkins (Glenside, Pa./Cheltenham) caged her first career goal as the Keystone College field hockey team enjoyed a 10-0 non-conference victory over Sweet Briar College in the Albertus Magnus Tournament on Sunday.

The Giants improve to 7-4 overall and will head to Cedar Crest in a CSAC contest on Wednesday, Oct. 10 at 5 pm. The Vixens drop to 2-6 on the year.

Robinson started off scoring two unassisted goals in the third and fourth minutes and senior Kayla Bain (Lancaster, Pa./J.P. McCaskey) caged a score in the ninth minute - off an assist from senior Alex Smith (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) - to give the Giants a 3-0 cushion.

In the 11th minute, junior Amy Llewellyn (Plains, Pa./Coughlin) increased the lead to 4-0 off a feed from senior Allison Berman (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./E.L. Meyers), followed by another Robinson tally in the 20th minute. Hawkins - who typically plays goalkeeper - enjoyed her first career goal in the 23rd minute to give Keystone a commanding 6-0 edge.

Robinson and Bain both recorded unassisted scores in the 31st and 34th minutes, respectively, to hand the Giants an 8-0 lead heading to halftime.

In the second half, freshman Carlee Sherman (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) scored in the 36th minute and sophomore Alex Williams (Elkton, Md./The Tome School) caged a tally in the 67th minute to wrap up the scoring barrage - the biggest margin of victory for the program since a 12-0 win over Notre Dame of Maryland on Oct. 17, 2015.
