Women’s Basketball Drops 59-50 Decision to Albright

GWYNEDD VALLEY, Pa. - Nov. 17, 2018 - Sophomore Bre Moore (Charleston, W.Va./Pennwood) led the Giants with 11 points on Saturday afternoon but the Keystone College women's basketball team fell to Albright College 59-50 in the consolation game of the Gwynedd Mercy Tip-Off Tournament.

With the defeat, Keystone is now 1-4 and will host King's (Pa.) on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 6 pm before Thanksgiving. The Lions picked up their first win of the year and are now 1-3.

Moore tallied her team-high 11 points after going 5-of-16 from the field while also collecting three boards. Senior Mayah Kitchen (Philadelphia, Pa./Imhotep Charter) and junior Maddy Moro (Danville, Pa./Danville Area) just missed out on double digits with nine points each, as Kitchen provided six rebounds and two steals. Moro grabbed six rebounds and swatted two shots before fouling out.

Sophomore Faith Shiffer (Pine Grove, Pa./Pine Grove) and junior Savanna Robinson (Wilkes-Barre, Pa./Coughlin) both finished with seven points, combining to shoot 3-of-9 from downtown. Shiffer dished out a team-best four assists. Sophomore Khaliah Gordon (Philadelphia, Pa./Penn Wood) tallied six points, seven rebounds and two steals.

Gordon was named to the All-Tournament Team.

After Keystone grabbed a 16-12 lead after one quarter of play, the Lions won the second period, 23-17, as the Giants trailed at halftime 35-33. Albright outscored Keystone 11-6 in the third and 13-11 in the final session to hand the Giants the defeat.
